Bachelor of Technology (Computer Science and Engineering) /Academic Year 2024-25/Batch 2021-25/semester VII/Generic Elective Courses Group - I
Neural network is a elective course in curricula of
computer science and engineering discipline at the third or final year of students at
many Indian universities as this course is very inter-disciplinary. Students can
take this course after completing the basic courses on engineering mathematics,
programming languages. Neural networks (NN) are based on
working of biological neural networks. Even though now a days advanced computing technology
is available, there are many applications where machines with human
reasoning and behavior is required. NN is a system which receives input,
process data and gives output. The syllabus is covered as follows.
First module is dedicated for introduction to the course to understand analogy
of Artificial NN with biological neuron, learning types, learning rules, scope of
applications. In second module supervised leaning algorithms for single and
multilayer networks are covered in detail. In third module unsupervised
learning algorithms are covered in detail. Fifth module is dedicated Associative memory models.
